Final Research Project

My Final Research Project has served as a great way to help me achieve many of the course outcomes, particularly those relating to my ability to conduct research, write, and think critically. This project was one of the final products we created during this course and allowed me to study research and sources in detail, which is one of the big things I learned about in doing my literature review taught at how to investigate by locating, reviewing and integrating a number work together. Instead of summarizing each source separately, I learned to group them by themes: mental health, communication (particularly for people unable to communicate as widely), and the intended positive impact of social media. The result was an understanding of how research fits together and builds. Finally, one of the most important outcomes I realized this assignment was helping me achieve improved clarity in writing organization and structure. The project made me provision to follow a formal research format with sections including Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion. This helped me learn how to present information logically and lead the reader through my thinking. My skills in supporting my claims based on secondary research, survey data, and primary interview also improved. This project further enhanced my data analytics skills. As opposed to only gathering data, I figured how it could actually indicate the meaning of the results and relate back to my research question and existing literature. All in all, I think the Final Research Project made me a better researcher and writer because it taught me how to think critically, organize my ideas, and write an entire paper.
